Draft — not yet in force. This document is a working draft and is pending review by a UK solicitor before public launch. The published, reviewed version is the one the app will record on acceptance.

Running a hub is a position of trust. On top of the Community Codethat every member accepts, hub owners accept this heightened Owner Code of Conduct when they apply — and again when their hub is approved. It sets the standard for how you lead your town’s community.

Your responsibilities as an owner

  • Keep it lawful. Your hub is for lawful organising and democratic participation. You must not use it to coordinate unlawful action, intimidation, or anything that targets people by race, religion, nationality, or another protected characteristic.
  • Moderate fairly and promptly. Review reports in good time, act proportionately, and apply the Community Code evenly — not to settle scores or silence disagreement.
  • Remove illegal content quickly. When you become aware of illegal content, take it down without delay and use the tools provided. Don’t leave harmful material up.
  • Protect members’ data.Treat what you can see about your members with care. Don’t misuse it, share it, or use your role to identify or pressure anyone.
  • Choose moderators responsibly.Anyone you appoint acts in your hub’s name and under this Code; you remain accountable for the hub.
  • Cooperate with the platform.Respond to platform admins, follow lawful instructions, and don’t obstruct investigations into reports or abuse.

Demonstrations and public events

Events of a demonstration type carry a legal-responsibility acknowledgement. As owner you must ensure such events are lawful, that organisers understand their obligations under public-order law, and that nothing on your hub facilitates unlawful assembly.

Accountability

Every moderation action in your hub is recorded. Owners who breach this Code may have their hub suspended or archived and their owner status removed — proportionately to the breach, and immediately for serious or repeated failures. Where the law requires it, we may share information with the relevant authorities.

One active hub per town

Each town has a single active hub. Being approved to run it is a responsibility to the whole town’s community, not a personal platform — lead accordingly.
